The warm weather has finally arrived in Niagara, and that can only mean one thing – patio season! If you find yourself in Port Dalhousie, stopping for a pint at Lock Street Brewery’s spacious biergarten is an absolute must.

Lock Street opened its doors in the historic neighbourhood in 2016, has been gaining popularity ever since. While the inside of their brewery is beautiful and full of character, the summer weather begs for pints in their biergarten. Have a seat on one of the many benches and enjoy the warm sunshine – they’re even dog-friendly, if you want to bring a four-legged friend. In the evening, they often have local musical acts to accompany your beer-sipping under the stars. What’s more summery than that?

Another great option in Port Dalhousie is the weekly Port Dalhousie Suppermarket, by Silversmith Brewery. From 4:30pm until dusk every Tuesday from June until the end of August, the public can enjoy a variety of local food trucks, live music, and – of course – Niagara’s own craft beer.

Of course, Port Dalhousie isn’t the only place to enjoy a refreshing patio pint this summer. Plenty of other breweries on the Niagara Ale Trail boast fantastic patios – Oast House Brewers, Niagara Brewing Company, Brimstone Brewing, and Taps on Queen all have ample outdoor seating to enjoy that cold summer brew. So get out on the Niagara Ale Trail and make the most of the sunshine with some local craft beer!
