About Home for Dinner

Home for Dinner is a community fundraising initiative, which encourages locals to order takeout from a selection of participating Niagara restaurants, while supporting Habitat for Humanity Niagara.

 When a customer’s order totals a minimum of $25, our sponsoring partners will donate $5 to Habitat for Humanity Niagara.

Last year, Home for Dinner boosted local restaurant sales and raised $30,000 for Habitat Niagara’s home building program. With over thirty restaurants participating, the community ordered 15,425 takeout meals that totaled a minimum of $25 which generated $385,625 in revenue for participating restaurants.

Customers will get a great meal, support local businesses and Habitat for Humanity Niagara.

Partner Restaurant Obligations

Provide Habitat Niagara with

  1. A logo of your business in high resolution jpeg. or eps. format.
  2. Your business website address.
  3. Your business social Media page names (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), so that we can tag your page in posts

On the agreement form


Habitat Niagara will provide you with a ‘Home for Dinner, proud partner of Habitat for Humanity Niagara’ window decal and a social media tool kit.


  1. Window decal: Habitat Niagara will provide you with a Home for Dinner window decal to place in a prominent spot on your door or window where customers enter.
  2. Social media posts: Habitat Niagara will email you a social media toolkit with content and images to copy and paste to your social media pages. IMPORTANT: To participate in this initiative, you MUST actively promote Home for Dinner on your social media pages on a regular basis.
  3. ‘Thank you’ inserts: Habitat Niagara will provide you with paper thank you inserts to place with each takeout order totaling a minimum of $25

Track the takeout food orders that total $25 or more.

Habitat Niagara will contact you on a weekly basis to collect these details. This will enable us to calculate the totals and work with the sponsoring partners to collect the donation amount.

which includes branded images and content related to the Home for Dinner

Promote your business

on a dedicated page of our website:

Media Exposure

Provide local media with a media release  about the initiative and sponsoring partners.

Actively promote your restaurant

by tagging your business social media page on our social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).

Become a Restaurant Partner

The partnership will commence the week of April 24 to June 4, 2022 (with the actual takeout food order initiative running from May 1 to the end of day on May 31, 2022). 

To participate in this initiative, you must have social media pages for your restaurant and be actively promoting Home for Dinner on your social media pages from the week of April 24 to June 4, 2022.
