There is magic in the air, trees are bursting with colour, the temperature is perfect for evenings on the deck with a blanket, book & craft bevy. For craft beverage fans in Niagara, this means a much-anticipated seasonal shift to stouts, pumpkin ales, spiced rums, spiked hot chocolates and rustic apple ciders! We will help you find your old favourites while discovering the new flavours across the Region.
Let us be your go-to guide as you GoSIP Niagara this fall!
An Apple A Day
Hard Ciders are enjoyed all year long. To extend that sunny summer feeling, season, pick up some Rose cider or Peach cider from Shiny Apple, Rood Apples’ classic cider, or Ironwood’s original flavour. Nicely chilled, it tastes like sunshine in a glass.
For something a little different, Fielding has released a limited batch of Hopped & Hazy Unfiltered Session Cider, which is perfect for cider lovers and craft beer lovers alike! If you fell in love with their Cherry Rose Cider, grab yours soon as they are nearly out for the season!
Seasonal Spirits
For cocktail fans, LTD Distillers continues to offer super popular Whiskey Sour and Old Fashioned Kits, perfect for curbside collect and enjoy at home. Their Jalapeno Moonshine is almost sold out, but keep checking in as there will be a new release soon to spice up those colder nights, pair with football season and crock pots of Chili!
Dillon’s Distillery has recently released a new line of delicious, simple syrups. These are a must-try for those of you who like to do some at-home mixology. Plus, the new Barrel-Aged Manhattan’s will soon be available again! If you are looking ahead to gifting season, it is the perfect time to grab Dillon’s Cocktail Book, celebrating 1 year in print!
Craft Brews
Thanks to a vibrant, growing season, some of our local faves are still “peachy” well into fall! Oast House Brewery and Niagara Brewing Company will offer their seasonal peach beers until they are sold out. Other fruity brews are available all over the Ale Trail, including the Valencia orange flavoured Bavarian Wheat Beer at Silversmith, the Grapefruit Pale Ale at Exchange, the blueberry and raspberry sours at Kame & Kettle, a dry-hopped orange sour at Cold Break, and a grapefruit blonde ale at Counterpart. You can still taste summer in a glass year-round.
But for those of you ready to embrace wool socks and fall flavour, Niagara has you covered too. Counterpart released their first coffee oatmeal stout, and both Exchange Brewery and Lock Street are pouring pumpkin ales faster than pumpkin spice lattes are flying. You can call ahead or go online and order direct for curbside collect 7 days a week.
